USPS First Class Delivery Confirmation?

My "first class" mail had not been delivered by USPS in over 10 postal days, so I shot them an email asking to check the status of the mail.

I just got a phone call on a saturday afternoon by a nice postal worker who proceeded to repeat verbatim the info from the delivery status page ("The mail has been through ABC sorting facility, then XYZ... etc."). He then proceeded to ask me to call the company to check if the mail was delivered.

The irony is that the USPS service for this mail was "Delivery confirmation". I guess they left out "(manual) delivery confirmation".

I think it's a big problem. Indeed all the company do the same thing like yours. "Please continue to call the company..."
